Great insight! Personal resolutions (New Year's etc.) don't need to be individual "I" but should be communal, other-focused. And as you referenced serving others brings meaning and satisfaction. I may push this one more degree... serving others, influencing ANONYMOUSLY brings even greater satisfaction. The ultimate test for leaders then is how they influence and serve others when they are no longer in a position of leadership. IMHO, this is the ultimate character test.
